Trustees voted at the Jan. 27 work session to place an item on their agenda to establish an automatic moratorium for zoning amendments.
Kathleen explained the proposal: "anytime you set a public hearing on a proposed zoning amendment...there's an automatic moratorium for 90 days." She said the moratorium acts as a stop-gap while the board and land-use boards consider an amendment; if the zoning is adopted within 90 days the moratorium ends, and the board can extend the moratorium if more time is needed.
The trustees agreed to schedule a public hearing on the moratorium proposal at the regular meeting and to refer the matter to the land-use boards for review.
