Salary board approves wage adjustments for court staff, parking workers and other positions effective June 15

During a recessed salary-board session on June 8, Carbon County officials approved a series of position-rate adjustments effective June 15, 2026.
Court administration (introduced by the clerk) presented motions to temporarily raise hourly rates for law clerks and to adjust secretary and office-supervisor pay grades across multiple magisterial district offices. "I know these particular individuals has been understudied for several years now, and I think we're finally, we've been able to address it," the court administration representative said after the motions were approved by voice vote.
The board also approved several parking-staff adjustments, including a $2 per-hour shift differential on Saturdays, Sundays and county-recognized holidays for parking attendants and technicians to address turnover and difficulty filling those shifts. Commissioners discussed that residents still receive free weekday parking with a stamp but that weekend staffing is more difficult to fill.
Other salary-board motions approved position restructures and the establishment of an acting office supervisor position in Weatherly. Each motion was seconded and passed by voice vote; the salary board tasked appropriate departments to process rate changes and update payroll records.
