Staff recommended approval of the second reading and full adoption. A councilor asked for public comments and none were offered. The council then moved, seconded and approved the ordinance on a voice vote.
The ordinance places a permanent moratorium on issuance of new and additional marijuana business licenses; staff said existing licenses and transfers allowed under state law are addressed by the statute’s language and that council would monitor the local regulatory and revenue outcomes as the law is implemented.
