San Miguel County commissioners approved a substantial PUD amendment June 3 that increases maximum allowable floor area on Lot 415 in the Lawson Hill PUD from 6,600 to up to 7,800 square feet to accommodate a mezzanine for a bouldering gym.
Senior planner John Huebner said no exterior changes or additional footprint expansion were proposed; the applicant will add a mezzanine level inside Unit C, update bathrooms and meet IPOA tap‑fee and trash‑enclosure conditions. The IPOA reviewed and supported the amendment on the condition the applicant submit a parking plan and pay any required tap fees.
Planning Commission reviewed the application and recommended approval. The board voted to approve the amendment and authorized the chair to sign the revised PUD development matrix and resolution.
