Fulton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Randy H. Bunch and his two fellow commissioners met Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the commissioners' office and approved routine county business, personnel actions and a mental-health proclamation.
The meeting opened with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by public comment in which Fulton County resident Sandra Barton inquired about ongoing litigation affecting the county.
Commissioner Steven L. Wible announced that an Emergency Election Board meeting had been held May 15 to appoint poll workers for the May 19 primary and noted separate minutes were on file. The board voted to approve the minutes from the May 12 meeting.
On financial business, Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve account payables dated May 19, 2026, totaling $98,875.94. The roll-up included $87,192.09 from the General Fund; $2,478.81 for the Law Library; $1,473.50 for 911; $46.01 for Hazmat; $6,594.03 for Debt Service; and $1,091.50 in pass-through funds. The motion passed "All in favor."
The board entered and later exited executive sessions for personnel matters. After the first executive session, commissioners met with HR Administrator Mary Huston to discuss posting a job in the District Attorney's Office. Commissioner Bunch moved to accept, "with much regret," a letter of resignation from Joyce Mellott, receptionist for the District Attorney's Office. Commissioner Hann then authorized HR Administrator Mary Huston to advertise the full-time (32 hours per week) receptionist position both internally and externally. Both motions passed unanimously.

Finally, the board approved travel-request forms for Services for Children Director Christine McQuade and Fiscal Technician Stephanie Mellott to attend the Children & Youth Administrators Conference in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, June 10'11, 2026. Commissioner Bunch moved to adjourn at 11:55 a.m.; the motion carried "All in favor."
