Charles County board swears in two new members and re-elects Darden as chair

The Charles County Board of License Commissioners on April 9 administered the oath to two newly seated members and completed delayed officer elections. LaVonne Proctor and Carrie Ann Williams each repeated the oath preserving their commitment to ‘‘support and defend the Constitution of the United States’’ and to follow the Charles County code of civility.
With a full membership restored, the board took nominations for leadership. Matthew Darden was nominated and approved to remain chairman, and Michelle Jones was nominated and approved to remain vice chairman; the board voiced approval by a unanimous voice vote.
The newly constituted board moved on to its regular business, including a series of temporary-license applications and transfer requests that the body considered later in the meeting. The board indicated that restoring membership should streamline licensing proceedings going forward.
