Rosalind Thomas Moon accepted the honor and thanked family members in the audience, including children and grandchildren. She described students as "my passion, my calling in life," and urged community members to mentor young people in Lancaster.
Mayor DeDede invited attendees to a brief fellowship in the foyer before the council moved on to the next agenda item. Meeting participants then checked the meeting's YouTube audio when some said the feed was not working.
