The board accepted the grading committee’s recommendation to award the district’s student food‑service contract to Aramark Student Nutrition effective July 1. Ms. Jones said the committee considered nutrition, staffing, financials and transition plans in making its recommendation; the board approved the award by motion and voice vote.
Ms. Jones said a town hall is scheduled where Aramark representatives will meet with current Sodexo employees to discuss potential employment with the new provider. A board member praised the committee for addressing how current staff would be offered positions and for thoroughly evaluating menu and nutrition standards.
Administration said more information about the transition and opportunities for affected employees will be available at the town hall and through district communications.
