The Nashville Village Council at its regular meeting on May 14 approved multiple contracts, agreements and administrative measures in unanimous votes.
Bills and payments: The council approved payment of bills totaling $91,138.63 on a motion by Sherry Hummel, seconded by Bonnie White; the roll-call vote was unanimous.
Franchise renewal: The council renewed the Uniform Video Service Local Franchise Agreement with Vogtmann Engineering, on a motion by Bonnie White seconded by Lori Courtney; the motion carried unanimously.
Lease: The council renewed the rental lease agreement with the Nashville Historical Society by motion of Johnny Hartwell supported by Bonnie White; vote was unanimous.
Streets resurfacing: Council accepted the bid recommendation from Fleis & Vandenbrink to award Lakeland Asphalt $229,129.50 for resurfacing on Queen Street and State Street; the motion by Bonnie White, supported by Johnny Hartwell, passed on a roll-call vote.
Infrastructure: The council approved a contract proposal with NTEC for a water tower inspection in the amount of $4,750.00 (motion by Bonnie White, supported by Sherry Hummel); the motion passed.
Fleet: The council approved purchase of a 2026 GMC Sierra 2500HD from Todd Wenzel Buick GMC for $66,788.00 (motion by Johnny Hartwell supported by Rick Argo) and authorized putting the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD out for sealed bids with a minimum bid of $60,000.00 (motion by Bonnie White supported by Johnny Hartwell); both motions passed unanimously.
Personnel: The council approved a pay-rate step change for employee Josh Pierce, moving his pay rate from the two-year step to the seven-year step (motion by Rick Argo supported by Bonnie White); the change passed by roll call.
Announcements and events: The Parks, Buildings & Grounds committee announced a ribbon-cutting June 12 at 3:00 p.m. followed by an ice-cream social; the Maple Syrup Association will host an open house at the sugar bush that day.
All listed votes in the minutes were recorded as unanimous; the council adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
