Paw Paw council approves manager contract, site plan and multiple construction payments

At a regular meeting on April 13, 2026, the Paw Paw Village Council unanimously approved a slate of motions including a three-year extension to Village Manager Bryan Myrkle's employment contract and multiple project payments and authorizations.
The council accepted the terms of Manager Myrkle's contract, which runs through April 7, 2029, on a motion by Trustee Nicolas Martinez, seconded by Trustee Steve Richardson. Council members recorded their approval of the contract by a unanimous vote.
Beyond personnel action, the council approved several financial and project motions. Donne Rohr moved, with support from Martinez, to approve Pay Request No. 7 from Milbocker Construction for $236,844.50 related to the Briggs Dam Replacement Project; that motion passed unanimously. The council also approved Change Order #2 from Barr Engineering/Milbocker and Sons Inc., increasing the Briggs Dam contract by $34,325.00. Those two items together total $271,169.50 in authorized payments or increases recorded at the meeting.
Trustees also voted to approve the Warner Vineyard site plan, subject to the conditions detailed by Village Planner Tricia Anderson and the council. The site plan motion, moved by Douglas Craddock and seconded by David McQueen, carried with all members present voting yes.
On capital purchases, the council pre-authorized bidding for a dump truck and an asphalt roller up to the FY 2026'2027 budgeted amounts; the authorization was contingent on DPS Director Tim Brandys and Manager Myrkle approving final bid parameters. The agenda had been amended earlier to remove "Maple Island Scope Change #2."
The council also approved routine business including the March 23, 2026 meeting minutes and claims totaling $656,484.51.
