Council approves Bay Well professional services advertising and accepts City Hall art display

The Bainbridge Island City Council approved several consent items, including authorization to advertise for professional services to update and rehabilitate a primary Bay Well head and acceptance of recommended artwork for the City Hall Engineering Conference Room.
Staff explained the Bay Well authorization is part of the approved 2025–26 CIP; the project is expected to exceed $100,000 but is fully covered by the approved budget and debt service will be paid from the water fund. "This is one of the primary water sources for the South End of the island," staff noted while explaining the procurement step.
Management analyst Adam Nevinsall presented the public art committee’s selections: 56 artworks were submitted by 25 artists and the chosen pieces aim to represent different Bainbridge neighborhoods. The artwork will be displayed for three years and staff will reassess thereafter. Council voted to accept the recommended artwork and directed the interim city manager to prepare and execute agreements and installation plans; the motions carried unanimously as part of the consent actions.
