Council votes to add Winslow-subarea feedback to Feb. 10 business meeting

At the conclusion of an extended Feb. 3 study session on the Winslow subarea plan, Councilmember Nelson moved to place an agenda item on the Feb. 10 business meeting to allow all seven councilmembers to provide feedback and offer motions on the planning commission's recommendations. Councilmember Schneider seconded. The council voted in favor; the motion carried.
The motion asked councilmembers who wish to propose a specific motion for consideration to provide that motion to the mayor, deputy mayor and city manager by the stated deadline so it could be included in the business-meeting packet. Acting City Manager Ellen Schroer told the council staff could include submitted motions and prepare requested analyses, including an identification of which planning commission recommendations staff and the city attorney consider "essential" to state compliance and a memo on water and sewer infrastructure implications.
Outcome: motion approved by voice vote; five councilmembers voted in favor and two were excused from the meeting. The item will appear on the Feb. 10 business meeting agenda for full council consideration.
