Council voted to authorize the acting interim city manager to execute a collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers covering Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2028.
Acting interim city manager summarized key terms: cost‑of‑living increases of 3% for 2026 and 2027 and a larger increase in 2028, step increases for employees not at top of range, and longevity pay for staff with 5–20 years of service. The interim manager said the negotiated contract reflects prior parameters set by the city and that the union negotiating team had agreed to the terms.
Council members thanked staff and union negotiators and noted the agreement should help with recruitment and retention. The city recorded the vote as unanimous.
