The Friday Harbor Town Council closed the public hearing on the Hollywock affordable housing project at 12:42 p.m. on April 2 and voted to direct staff to complete findings of fact and conclusions of law approving the project permits as recommended.
Community development director Ryan Erickson told the council that references to building heights in the staff report were from an older report and would be stricken before finalizing findings. An applicant representative indicated the applicant agreed with the staff report and conditions of approval.
A council member moved to direct staff to prepare the findings and conclusions supporting approval of the consolidated permits (LUA 2026‑0001, 0002, 0003, 0005 and 0010). The motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. The council did not specify additional conditions at the motion; council members said staff could add conditions if they believed them necessary when drafting the written findings.
What’s next: Staff will prepare the written findings of fact and conclusions of law consistent with the motion and the staff recommendation; the files will then be returned to the council for formal adoption of the written findings as part of the land‑use record.
