Goodview council approves routine agenda items, policies and event permit in unanimous votes

At its Aug. 4 meeting the Goodview City Council unanimously approved the agenda, consent minutes, publication summary for Ordinance 2025-03, a block party permit, and two Data Practices Policy drafts; it later closed the meeting to review a property appraisal.
The Goodview City Council approved a series of procedural and administrative items in unanimous votes during its Aug. 4 meeting.
Mayor Ben Klinger called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Councilmember Charlie Andring moved and Councilmember Cassandra Gilliam seconded approval of the meeting agenda; all present voted aye. The council likewise approved the consent agenda, which included the July 21, 2025 regular meeting minutes, on a motion from Councilmember Dick Ledebuhr, seconded by Councilmember Andring.
The council approved the summary publication of City of Goodview Ordinance 2025-03 after a motion by Councilmember Ledebuhr and a second from Councilmember Gilliam; the motion carried with all voting aye. The body also approved a block party request for Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025 (49th Ave to 51st Ave on 7th Place) on the same unanimous vote pattern.
Later, on a motion by Councilmember Andring seconded by Councilmember Gilliam, the council approved two draft policies prepared by the City Attorney: a Data Practices Policy and Data Request Form for Members of the Public and a Data Practices Policy and Data Request Form for Data Subjects. Both motions passed with all present voting yes.
At 5:27 p.m. the council voted to close the regular meeting and go into closed session pursuant to Minnesota Statute 13D.05, subdivision 3(c)(1) and subdivision 3(c)(3) to determine an asking price and review confidential appraisal data for the property listed as parcel ID 24.125.0860. The closed session was held beginning at 5:28 p.m. to review the appraisal report for the property located at 4054 West 6th Street.
Councilmember Ledebuhr moved and Councilmember Andring seconded adjournment at 6:38 p.m.; the motion passed unanimously. The council scheduled its next regular meeting for Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Goodview City Hall.
