Public works begins data collection for 44th Avenue resurfacing; staff notes conference and permits report

Director of Public Works Dave Schultz told the council that Bolton & Menk has started collecting data needed for a potential resurfacing project east of 44th Avenue. Mr. Matt Mohs of Bolton & Menk is scheduled to attend a May council meeting to present a task order describing the consultant's proposed scope of work and deliverables.
City Administrator Dan Matejka reminded council members that the 2025 League of Minnesota Cities annual conference will be held in Duluth June 25-27 and asked those who wish to attend to notify him for registration. The council was also presented with the March 2025 building permit summary report and the EDA minutes from March 12, 2025. Notices included the Maintenance Department on-call schedule for May and a notice of the Southeast Minnesota League of Municipalities spring meeting in Caledonia on April 29.
The meeting packet also listed fund totals and claims: General Fund $187,461.11; Economic Development (EDA) $100.00; Water Service Fund $49,718.51; Sewer Service Fund $25,378.10; Grand Total $262,657.72. The minutes do not include further discussion of these amounts.
