The Goodview City Council unanimously approved a $10,000 increase to the Fire Department's training budget at its April 7 meeting to cover unforeseen expenditures and keep the department on track with an existing training plan.
Acting Fire Chief Matt Kramer introduced Captain Shane Ives and said Captain Ives will step up to serve as the department’s second point of contact and acting deputy chief for the remainder of the year. The promotion/introduction was presented as an internal personnel update; the council did not take a separate formal personnel vote at the meeting.
Councilmember Dick Ledebuhr moved the budget increase and Councilmember Charlie Andring seconded the motion. The motion passed with all members voting aye.
City Administrator Dan Matejka also informed the council that the municipal audit began that day and auditors were expected to remain through Wednesday. No additional action on fire staffing or budget items was recorded.
