The Bellingham Planning Commission elected new leadership on Feb. 19. The commission voted 6-0 to select Jed Ballou as chair and, separately, 6-0 to elect Rose Lathrop as vice chair. Both nominations were uncontested.
The nominees accepted the positions and spoke briefly about maintaining organized, efficient meetings and continuing the commission's work on code updates and plan implementation. Commissioners and staff thanked outgoing leaders for their service and noted the commission will proceed with its scheduled work program.
What happens next: Ballou and Lathrop will serve as the commission's chair and vice chair; the commission will continue with scheduled March agenda items and staff presentations.
