On Oct. 21 the Byram Township Council discussed updating the Township's Register of Open Space Inventory (ROSI) and whether to add properties to make them eligible for funding.
Township Manager Joseph Sabatini recommended moving forward with adding requested properties, noting that some properties in the Mt. Heights area are deed-restricted and cannot be sold because they are preserved as open space. Mayor Rubenstein advised caution about adding conforming properties to the ROSI that could be sold. Councilman Roseff suggested adding Cranberry Lake lots to the ROSI and there were no objections from council members to proceed with the update and submit an updated ROSI to the state at a future meeting.
Separately during reports, Councilman Roseff announced that the Historical Society received a $10,000 State Tourism Grant and promoted an Oct. 29 speaker series at Wild West City.
The ROSI update will be the subject of a future resolution to authorize sending an updated ROSI to the state; the council did not adopt that resolution at this meeting.
