Byram Council outlines 2026 capital road plan covering multiple neighborhoods

The Byram Township Council on Oct. 21 reviewed priorities for the township's 2026 capital budget, focusing on extensive road resurfacing and neighborhood street improvements.
Township Manager Joseph Sabatini told the council that contractor work on Mansfield Drive would finish within about two weeks and that the contractor would later return to resume work on Lackawanna Drive. Council discussion then listed neighborhoods and specific streets proposed for 2026 resurfacing or improvements, including the Forest Lakes area (Sleepy Hollow Road, Peach Tree, Crows Nest, Conrad Strasse, Sandys Road, Old Stagecoach, Glen Cove, Woodland, Lake View Drive, Sunset Way); roadways along the Tamarack corridor (Colby Drive, Manu Trail, Hunters Lane, Ghost Pony Road, Old Indian Spring Road, Little Paint Way, Roger Drive, Cross Trail, Knute Drive, CO Drive); East Brookwood community streets (Woods Edge, Sand Hill, Pleasant Hill, White Birch, Mountain Ave, East Waterloo, Wildwood Road, Stony Brook south of Brookwood Rd.); and resurfacing candidates such as Brookwood Drive, Stoney Brook Road (north of Brookwood Road), Dogwood Lane, Trout Brook Road, Shady Brook Road, and Sandy Brook Road. Improvements to Mountain Heights, Mountain View and Circle Drive were also discussed.
Manager Sabatini said the township expects the contractor to be in town for at least a month to complete the projects. The council did not vote on the capital budget at this meeting; the topic was discussed as part of budget planning and project prioritization.
The council plans to include a full list of capital projects on the township website and revisit budget adoption and contract awards at future meetings.
