Chair Rizwan Malik called the Oak Bluffs School Committee to order at 8:02 a.m. on March 20 during a brief Zoom meeting where members approved a school-use request from MV United.
School staff member Jeremy Light told the committee the MV United application had been delayed because the applicants had not provided the required proof of insurance and had not specified the particular days they wanted to use the field. Light said he had informed the applicants that the committee could grant conditional approval once insurance documentation is submitted and that he would follow up to collect the missing schedule details.
Committee member Laurel Schneider moved to approve the MV United request “as outlined in the application”; Kathryn Shertzer seconded the motion. The board voted unanimously, 3-0, to approve the request with the condition that proof of insurance be supplied and with staff to confirm exact dates for field use.
The meeting adjourned at 8:07 a.m. following a motion by Chair Rizwan Malik and a second from Shertzer, which also passed 3-0. Minutes for the meeting were submitted by Denitsa Alton and are recorded as approved April 28, 2026.
