The Rochester Water Board on March 2 approved two contractor payouts tied to the city’s water system projects.
A board member moved and a second was given to pay Willpower Excavating and Bulldozing $521,826.93 for Division A work — pipe footage placed during the past month, hydrants and valves and stored materials. The chair called for a voice vote and the motion passed with all in favor.
Later in the meeting, the board voted to pay Codwell Tanks Incorporated $105,264.75 for Division B shop‑drawing and foundation work for a steel tank. Staff said the payment covered shop‑drawing work and in‑house engineering the contractor performed in advance of onsite mobilization; a motion and second were recorded and the board approved the payout by voice vote.
Board members said they expect larger payments as site mobilization progresses and asked staff to ensure backup invoices and correct check amounts are on file before payment processing. No board member recorded a roll‑call vote; the approvals were by general voice vote.
