Greenville public commenters raise recording access, safety and code-enforcement concerns; local candidate announces Senate run

Several residents used the Statement of Citizens portion of the May 19 Greenville City Council meeting to raise local concerns and to make a campaign announcement.

Bart Brown (322 E. Benton) asked that council meeting recordings be added to the city's website and expressed concern about a speed-limit change around Baldwin Lake. Dylan Brown (322 E. Benton) later emphasized prioritizing safety in the same neighborhood. Gerald Wellman (206 N. Bower) raised code-enforcement concerns, noting a broken window at the Rumney's building downtown. Kevin Carlson (1108 Sprucewood Drive) questioned the accounts payable report during public comment, and Jeff Hines (109 N. Bower Street) praised Katie DeBoer and said he had emailed the mayor; Hines also commented about people coming to meetings to complain and spoke of "perceived corruption."
