The Richardson County Board of Commissioners voted May 27 to deny a $21,224.50 claim from vendor gWorks that the vendor characterized as an early-termination fee for EM Tab, Assessor's Tab and annual support. Commissioner Campbell moved to deny payment; Commissioner Karas seconded and the motion carried on a roll-call vote in open session.
County Attorney Samantha Scheitel and County Assessor Kim Riggs were present for the board's review of the withheld claim. The record shows the board examined the basis for the fee and then voted to withhold payment; the meeting minutes do not record additional public testimony or a different resolution of the claim.
The denial was entered alongside other routine business at the May 27 meeting; minutes show the board then moved on to approve the day's claims and adjourn. The board will reconvene at its next regular meeting on June 3, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room at the Richardson County Courthouse in Falls City.
