Council approves West Edge/N. Saunders Trail replacement contract

Staff summarized that an alternate bid had been omitted during an earlier street-improvement award and that the trail work had been re-quoted to multiple contractors. Two quotes were returned and staff recommended awarding the base bid plus the removal alternate to W.M. Mueller because Mueller’s combined price was lower and because public-works review indicated Mueller’s removal price was competitive with city forces.
Council moved to accept the quotes and award the contract to W.M. Mueller; the motion passed by voice vote. Staff said the improvements would be paid from the park fund. The council’s approval authorizes staff to finalize contract details and proceed with scheduling and construction coordination.
