The Milton Planning Commission voted unanimously on June 2, 2026 to recommend a conceptual Downtown Core Master Plan developed by Framework Consultants to the Selectboard. Framework Consultants’ Jeff Arango, Sarah Lukins and Byron George presented the concepts and answered commissioners’ questions.
Commissioners focused questions on parking, the most effective layout for downtown parcels and how neighboring properties could be used to support the plan. Members also discussed and compared Concept 1 and Concept 2 presented by the consultants. After discussion, Commissioner Rich Desouza moved to recommend the conceptual plan to the Selectboard; Commissioner Sean Tatro seconded the motion and the vote was recorded as unanimous.
The recommendation sends the conceptual plan forward for Selectboard consideration; the minutes record that the commission preferred the concept as presented but do not specify a formal adoption of a final plan or any implementation timeline. Framework Consultants led the presentation and responded to technical questions during the meeting. The Selectboard must consider the Planning Commission’s recommendation before any changes to zoning or formal project approvals would occur.
The Planning Commission’s next meeting is scheduled for June 16, 2026 in the Community Room; further public meetings or Selectboard consideration dates were not specified in the commission minutes.
