Resident raises traffic and master-plan questions for Westfield Avenue projects

Dilia Collins-Clark told the Clark Planning Board on June 4 she had questions about the township master plan and traffic on Westfield Avenue.
"I just have a quick question regarding all the building on Westfield Avenue and the proposed building and the master plan. I haven't had a chance to look at it, but what year does the master plan end?" Collins-Clark asked, and asked whether a traffic study is included in the plan; a board member replied that the plan is evaluated every five years and a full update occurs every 10 years and said the traffic component should be available through OPRA.
Collins-Clark said she had raised congestion concerns previously and that roughly seven projects could occur within a little more than half a mile between Brandt Avenue and Madison Hill Road, which she said could worsen traffic and affect properties across from Quick Chek. The presiding officer and staff responded that the traffic component should be available for public review.
The board did not take action on the item during public comment; the presiding officer closed the public-comment period after Collins-Clark's remarks.
