The Klamath Falls City Council voted June 1 to recommend that the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission approve a full on‑premises liquor license for Sunbird Kitchen LLC at Watershed Row, a multi‑tenant redevelopment on South 7th Street.
City staff described the project as a mixed retail and food‑service campus; the Sunbird tenant plans a bakery and cafe that would operate roughly from 7 a.m. to midafternoon and a separate bar area that would operate in the late afternoon and evening. Owner Alex Froom said Sunbird will be one of several tenants and expects to open this summer and participate in downtown events such as the Clamoth (transcript) Music Festival.
Staff said the city had routed notice to neighbors and property owners and had not received negative feedback. After a brief public hearing, the council made a motion and passed a voice vote to forward a positive recommendation to the OLCC.
The council’s action was a recommendation only; final licensing authority rests with the OLCC. The city will notify the commission as it processes the application.
