Housing Commission recommends 2026–2027 work plan with added Belhaven meeting

The Menlo Park Housing Commission on June 3 recommended that City Council approve the commission’s 2026–2027 work plan, adding an amendment to increase meetings at the Belhaven Community Campus from one to two.
Management Analyst Arianna Milton presented the staff recommendation to retain the existing work plan so the commission can build on progress achieved in 2025–2026, including community engagement goals tied to the May housing resource fair. "Per our City Council policy CC‑22‑004, each Commission must develop an annual work plan for City Council approval by September 30th," Milton said.
Commissioners discussed the number of offsite community meetings and whether two meetings at Belhaven would better support outreach objectives. Chair Osler moved and Commissioner Cranin seconded a motion to recommend City Council approve the 2026–2027 work plan with the amendment to increase Belhaven meetings to two. The motion passed 4‑0 with three absences.
Staff will forward the work plan recommendation to the City Council for final action and will coordinate with commissioners on any additional edits or details requested by the Council.
