Limestone County commissioners approve claims, a $26,170 jail-flooring contract, multiple promotions and subdivision plats

Concrete Contractors Incorporated listed as contracting parties. The commission recorded the project’s total estimated cost at $26,170, of which the county’s share is $6,836. The board approved a low-dollar bid award in the amount of $1,330.70 and then moved through several personnel items. The commission amended the staffing plan to add a part-time temporary van driver (grade nine) and approved multiple promotions: Landon Navvice to equipment operator 3; Robbie Tamman and Hayden Russell to equipment operator 2; Mandy Mandre Diaz and Kathy Lamb to tag/title clerk 2; Aldra Kilpatrick to title clerk 3; and Molly Hamilton to title clerk 4. Commissioners also approved merit increases for county employees. Most personnel motions passed unanimously; the record notes one abstention on a promotion vote.
County Engineer Massie presented five subdivision plats for approval. The commission approved preliminary and final plats for Clay Jackson (four lots, District 4), August State (two lots, District 2), Sod Road (13 lots, District 3), Pinedale Estates (16 lots, District 1) and Cedar Hill (five lots, District 1).
During reports and other business commissioners described recent storm damage that has delayed routine maintenance and paving work. Commissioner Ruth thanked District One voters and reported progress on bush-hogging and tree trimming. Commissioners Turner, Gatlin and Townsen described heavy rains and widespread downed trees and broken utility poles in areas including Brim Bluff, Riverside and Elk Estates; Townsen thanked volunteers, fire and utility crews who aided cleanup efforts.
The meeting included routine administrative votes to remove five items from county inventory and to approve salvage errors and taxes in litigation for 2025 as presented by the revenue commission office. The commission adjourned and scheduled its next session for the 15th.
