Paramount planning panels approve three conditional use permits for dental, medical clinic and camper assembly

The City of Paramount's planning bodies on June 3 unanimously approved three conditional use permits for new or expanded businesses in the downtown and industrial areas.

Superkids Dental: The Planning Commission voted to approve a conditional use permit for Superkids Dental to operate in combined tenant suites at 16239 Paramount Boulevard in the Town Center West PDPS zone. Assistant Director Monica Rodriguez told commissioners the interior-only tenant improvement covers about 2,100 square feet, includes six treatment rooms and an all-gender restroom, and is expected to employ five to eight staff operating Monday through Friday. Linda Brown, a broker representing Superkids Dental, said the landlord has signed the lease and the business will provide pediatric-focused dental services. The commission adopted the staff resolution approving the permit (resolution number shown in packet) by unanimous roll call.

Roads Community Clinic: The commission also approved a conditional use permit for the Roads Foundation to operate a medical clinic at 16260 Paramount Boulevard E in the Town Center East. Staff said the suite is roughly 2,800 square feet with eight exam rooms and one ADA-accessible patient bathroom; hours would be weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Rocker Janagi, facilities manager for Roads Community Clinic, described the applicant as a federally qualified health center with existing clinics in neighboring cities and said the new clinic would expand pediatric and family-practice access. The permit was approved unanimously under the stated conditions.

MDC Campers and Caravans: In the M2 Heavy Manufacturing zone, commissioners approved a permit allowing MDC Campers to use a 27,750-square-foot building at 16400 Garfield Avenue for warehousing, light interior assembly and limited outdoor storage (up to 25% of the site). Assistant planner materials describe 24,450 square feet of warehouse and 3,300 square feet of office space, five dock doors and roughly 52 parking spaces on site. Regina Tuatasi, U.S. operations manager for the company, said the business finishes trailers for sale to dealerships, does light manufacturing and will not be open for retail sales. The permit passed unanimously with conditions including façade, parking and screening improvements.

All approvals were recorded by roll-call votes with the five commissioners present voting yes. Staff will oversee plan-check details such as restroom requirements, required parking counts, landscaping refurbishment and any required building permits before final occupancy.
