Transportation board narrows its council presentation to transit and sidewalks, forms research pairs

The Littleton Transportation Mobility Board voted informally by consensus to focus its upcoming joint study session with city council on transit and pedestrian infrastructure. Members said transit is a timely priority given state-level changes and recommended the board craft targeted recommendations; they also prioritized sidewalks and shared-use/multi-use paths as an actionable second topic.
Shane (staff) outlined that the study session is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 11 and that the packet for council review would need finalization by July 20 to meet that date. Several members argued for concentrating on one or two topics so the board could present well-developed recommendations rather than a superficial list. "If we had one topic to present, it should be transit," one member said, citing changing state structures and local passenger-rail interest.
The board split into research pairs to prepare material for the next meeting: Kelly and Marine will work on transit and microtransit concepts, Katie McDonald and Josh Stewart volunteered to research multi-use/shared-paths, and Dave Evans and Andrew agreed to examine funding options (developer fees, grants, 3A funds). Members agreed that pair work should avoid ex parte decision-making by limiting collaborations to two people at a time and returning findings to the full board.
Staff said they would attempt to confirm whether the council would accept a single-topic short presentation in August or prefer a later date; if necessary the board may schedule supplemental outreach or a September appearance. The board assigned members to cover upcoming community outreach dates to gather resident input before finalizing recommendations.
