Several routine and substantive items were decided at the Champaign County Environment and Land Use Committee meeting.
Agenda and minutes: The committee amended the agenda to move items 8A and 8B ahead of item 7 to accommodate attendees. The motion to approve the agenda was adopted. The committee approved minutes from the May 7 regular meeting after a motion by Rodriguez and a second by Shell.
Rezoning approvals: Zoning case 204 AM 26, a request by owner Deanna Easton of Payne's Pride to change five lots (10.23 acres) in Somer Township from B4 general business to I1 light industrial, was recommended for approval by the Zoning Board of Appeals (4–0, two absent) and approved by the committee. Mr. Hall reported no public comments at the hearing. Zoning case 206 AM 26, a request by owner Edward Burdette to rezone roughly 1,300 acres in Scott Township from B3 Highway Business to AG1 Agricultural to allow a second dwelling (and possible future subdivision), was likewise recommended by the ZBA and approved by the committee; staff said it met LRMP goals.
Other approvals: The committee approved the annual recreation and entertainment license for the Fisher Community Fair at 502 E. Sangamon St., Fisher, for July 5–11. The chair designated items 8A and 8B for the consent agenda before adjourning at 6:43 p.m.
Carbon ordinance: Separately (and summarized for readers), the committee authorized a public hearing on a proposed zoning-text amendment to regulate carbon sequestration and adopt a scientist-recommended Mahomet Aquifer map; that item is docketed for the Zoning Board of Appeals on July 16 and will return to the committee after public hearings.

Where the transcript did not provide roll-call vote tallies, the minutes record voice votes ("all in favor") and the committee recorded items as passing. If a formal roll-call tally is required, county staff should be consulted for the official minutes.
