Board recognizes students, staff and long-serving official Peggy Snider

The board set aside time on June 2 for multiple recognitions. Miss Allison highlighted Ringgold High School athlete Piper Brown, who won her second GHSA girls high-jump state championship (5'10") and plans to attend the University of Georgia. Mr. Pierce and Heritage Middle staff recognized Brantley Foster and the school’s FFA chapter for state- and region-level awards.
Amanda Oxford, Director of Special Education, introduced a large portion of her team and said the department met federal indicators at 100 percent; multiple staff members stood and identified their roles. Superintendent Nicks presented Director Carter with an Award of Distinction from the Department of Audits and Accounts for excellent financial reporting; Carter credited his team and bookkeepers.
The board also honored Peggy Snider on her 252nd and final board meeting for longtime behind-the-scenes service to the district. Members described Snider as "the district’s Google" for institutional knowledge; Snider spoke briefly and accepted the board’s thanks and gifts.
All recognitions were presented as part of the meeting’s recognitions portion and did not require board action.
