Algonac council approves multiple contracts, repairs and permits including pavement work and festival permit

Among the items the council approved were: a pay application for North Elm and Chestnut pavement rehabilitation to Peak Asphalt (record shows amount "198,57489"), a change order totaling $7,325 for the activity-center fire alarm replacement to Stevenson Electric Company, and a $3,840 change order to Superior Heating and Cooling for air-handler upgrades to prevent mold in the new activity center.
The council also approved tower-truck repairs for the fire department with Algonac's share recorded at $5,194.61 (total repair cost in the record $15,583.84) and a one-year property and liability insurance renewal for the activity center from Nickel and Saf Inc. for $9,416. The water-plant high-service pump No. 3 startup by Standard Electric to activate the extended warranty was approved for $3,652.66, and the council accepted a proposal from Anderson Xin and Wester Incorporated for the 2025 bridge inspections for $18,450, covering several canal-parallel bridges listed in the record.
The Algonac Community Pool will receive a blue safety mesh cover supplied and installed by Advanced Pool Services, Inc. for $18,500 after the council voted to approve the invoice.
