Council accepts state body-armor grant for police department

The Castle Hills City Council unanimously adopted a resolution on Nov. 18 accepting a state grant to purchase ballistic body armor for the Castle Hills Police Department.
Chief described the grant as providing rifle-rated plate carriers and said there is no local match required. The vendor will demonstrate vest options for department review before final selection. Council adopted resolution number 2025-11-18A authorizing acceptance of the grant and designating the city manager as grant designee.
The resolution does not obligate local matching funds and staff said the grant will be incorporated into the police department’s equipment policy and selection process.
