Council approves $43,353 amendment to engineering-services contract for Carolwood/North Manton drainage project

The City Council approved an amendment on Nov. 18 to the professional engineering services agreement with Half for construction-observation services on the Carolwood and North Manton roadway and drainage-improvement project.
Staff said the original contract (not-to-exceed $128,229.80) was based on a 360-calendar-day schedule that began Dec. 13, 2024, and was set to expire Dec. 8, 2025. Change orders extended construction and staff proposed adding approximately $43,353 and 128 additional calendar days, producing an estimated construction end date of April 7, 2026. The proposed amendment would be prorated if the extra time is not fully used. Staff said the additional cost will come from bond funds allocated to the construction project.
Councilmember Joyce moved to approve the amendment; the motion passed with one abstention (Mr. Smith).
Next steps: staff will execute the amendment and continue construction oversight until the adjusted completion date; final billing will be dependent on actual construction duration.
