The Castle Hills City Council unanimously adopted ordinance 2025-11-18 on Nov. 18 to rezone 5703 Blanco Road (CB50008 P-12 ABS 526 and P1A ABS 526) from an F office/professional two-story district to a G general-business district.
Staff reported the property owner, George Atala, seeks to open a medical clinic and repurpose an existing building as a conference hall; the zoning commission considered the application on Nov. 4 and recommended approval, noting questions about parking and accessibility that the applicant addressed. Councilmember Joyce moved for adoption and Councilmember Haley seconded; the vote was unanimous.
Staff recommendations and the zoning-commission report were incorporated into the council packet. No public opposition was recorded during the hearing and no amendments were made to the text of the ordinance.
Next steps: The ordinance will change the allowable uses at the property to permit the clinic and conference space under the city’s G zoning district.
