Teamsters Local 600 urges county to resume bargaining after stalled talks

William Dyson, speaking during public comment on behalf of Roen Bridge employees represented by Teamsters Local 600, told the St. Francois County Commission that negotiations that began in September 2025 had not produced meaningful progress since April 28, 2026.
Dyson said the county's wage proposal to the road and bridge employees has effectively been zero despite raises for other county departments, and described the delay as a concern for employees who maintain county roads and respond to emergencies. He said Local 600 remains committed to negotiating a fair agreement but that the union is prepared to use avenues under Missouri labor law if bargaining remains stalled.
He asked the commission to return to the bargaining table in good faith and present a proposal that recognizes the value of the employees. The commission did not take immediate action on the comment during the meeting.
