The meeting included two proclamations: one recognizing April 2026 as the Month of the Military Child, read by Mrs. Horwitz, and another recognizing April as Autism Acceptance Month, read by Mr. Walsh. Members thanked military families in the district, highlighted the district’s liaison to military families and noted partnerships with Naval Weapons Station Earle.
During action‑item presentations administration also announced retirements. Dr. Garabaccio (administration) recognized Veronica Zeno for 22 years of service as an instructional assistant and Amy Desmond for 28 years at the elementary level (over 30 years teaching). "The care and the love that they give to children every single day is just immeasurable," Dr. Garabaccio said, and the board offered its thanks and best wishes.
