Council accepts Circle R land donation for Octter Trail

Concord Township Council approved Resolution 26 of 2026 on June 2 to accept a donation of land from Circle R Investments LLC to support the Octter Trail project. Council members said portions of the donated parcel fall in both Concord Township and neighboring Chad’s Ford, but both pieces are important to the trail’s alignment.
Council moved and seconded the resolution and recorded an affirmative voice vote. Council also voted to present a certificate of recognition to Thelma Chernoff on behalf of the family of the late Leon Chernoff, who previously owned the Circle R property and whose family donated the parcel.
Township officials said the donation puts the Octter Trail project one step closer to construction; further procedural steps, such as surveying and recording the conveyance, will follow.
