On budget matters, business staff reported the district expects approximately $636,000 more in state funding than budgeted for 2024–25, broken down in staff comments as about $243,000 in basic education subsidy, $170,000 in special education subsidy, roughly $177,000 in cyber charter tuition reimbursement, and $45,000 from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Finance staff advised caution: the district has not yet received the funds and typically spreads state subsidy changes across monthly payments. They recommended reserving any excess to offset inflation and plan for sustainability rather than immediate new spending.
No final policy adoptions or budget reallocations were made at the working session; the committee advanced policies for full board consideration at a later meeting.
