Belvidere council confirms public works appointment, renews software and awards multiple infrastructure contracts

The council also approved several public‑works contracts and capital bids, all by unanimous roll call:
- JSV Landscaping LLC: $455 per mowing for water‑department sites (paid from water department line 61‑5‑810‑6040). - JSV Landscaping LLC: $2,931.20 per mowing for public‑works sites (street department line 01‑5‑310‑6002). - DAS Landscaping LLC: $723.52 per mowing for Farmington ponds (Farmington pond maintenance fund). - DPI Construction: low bid of $389,459.78 for the Logan Avenue water main replacement (paid from water depreciation account 61‑1780). - Curran Contracting: low bid of $245,000 for the phase‑three sanitary manhole adjustment project (paid from capital funds).
Separately, the council voted to waive bidding for thickening centrifuge repairs at the wastewater treatment plant and approved Centrisys factory repairs not to exceed $45,241, to be paid from the sewer depreciation account (61‑1790).
All motions listed above passed by unanimous roll call during the meeting. The council did not detail construction schedules or start dates in the meeting record; technical questions were referred to the new Public Works director and staff.
