The Belvidere City Council voted unanimously June 1 to adopt Ordinance No. 765‑H, granting a special‑use planned‑development for property at 1140 West Locust occupied by Central Grain (Central Commodities Limited).
Council took the measure on second reading after the ordinance was presented by the mayor. Alderman Stevens moved the approval and Alderman Peterson seconded; the clerk called the roll and eight members voted in favor. The ordinance authorizes the special use within the city's general industrial district as described in the materials presented to council.
Council members did not raise further objections during discussion. The mayor thanked Mr. McKee for attending and acknowledged the applicant, introduced as Mr. Dan Mickey of Central Grain, during the proceedings.
The ordinance will now be recorded as adopted per local procedures. The council did not schedule additional public hearings on this item during the meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
