Churchill and staff said they are conducting site visits for preschool special‑education services, including Circle of Friends and Spectrum in Kingston, and plan to provide a report to the committee after the visits. The committee was invited to join a small group for a site visit scheduled for the following morning and a second visit on the 18th.
Officials also discussed a new consumer accommodation called "Caroline's carts," which are specialized shopping carts that allow children and youth with special healthcare needs (up to 220 pounds) to sit facing their guardian while grocery shopping. Churchill said the carts will be introduced at the county’s youth health fair and added to the county’s "think differently" outreach page.
The committee said it will invite the new Head Start provider for Greene County to present at an upcoming July or August meeting. No committee votes were required on these items; they were presented as program updates and outreach steps.
