The contractor presented a revised bid after deducting pit‑run gravel and road‑building line items that the county agreed to provide. The revised contract price shown to the board was $262,800 for the prime construction work (mobilization, concrete work, gates and fencing remained in the contract). Commissioners moved to approve the agreement; a motion and second passed with recorded assent.
County and contractor discussions focused on assigning gravel sourcing and roadpack responsibilities to county crews. The road supervisor and contractor agreed the county will supply pit‑run material, lay and compact the road base, and schedule hauling. The contractor outlined a short construction schedule: footings and walls staged through July with slabs and finishing work expected into August depending on weather and material availability.
Payment timing was discussed: the contractor asked for periodic pay estimates and explained upfront costs (for example, payment for steel and gate fabrication already advanced). Commissioners described their normal claim/pay schedule and asked for invoices by specified cutoff dates to match county pay cycles.
The board signed three copies of the contract documents and recorded the approval in the minutes. The county will host the contractor on site to finalize staking, gravel sourcing and a detailed timetable.
Contract documents and the notice to proceed will be retained with county procurement records; county staff will monitor construction progress and coordinate roadwork and gravel delivery.
