Board approves MOU, job-description and policy changes and appoints two administrators in closed session

The board approved a package of personnel and administrative actions during its meeting, each by a recorded voice vote of 3-0 with two trustees absent.

Human-resources actions approved in open session included a memorandum of understanding between the Alisal Union School District and the Alisal Teachers Association for a 2025-2026 retirement incentive; approval of variable-term waivers for the 2026-2027 school year; and a revised job description renaming the Program Manager of Human Resources to Program Manager, Educator Effectiveness and Support.

Administrative items adopted included an amendment to the confidential salary schedule for 2025-26 and 2026-27, and second-read adoptions of revised board policies and bylaws, including a new remote-meeting/bylaw exhibit (9320.1) that clarifies when trustees may attend and vote remotely under specified local-emergency or other "just cause" conditions. During consent review staff also noted two items pulled from the consent calendar (construction management services for the warehouse/District Office annex and a food-service van) for additional information before future consideration.

After a closed session, the board announced it had appointed Dr. Antonio Garcia as Director of Student Access and Programs and Eric Olson as Program Manager of Special Education for the 2026-27 school year; both actions were reported as taken on a 3-0 vote with two trustees absent. The board also reported the rejection of a claim received on or about May 7, 2026.

All recorded open-session motions carried unanimously among the three trustees present; no roll-call individual vote tallies beyond the 3-0 counts were recorded in the open transcript excerpts.
