Other updates included preliminary reuse planning for the Emporium Overlook brownfield site, GIS data showing roughly 148,228 acres of state and public land within the county (cited as about 57% of county area) to support a state tax‑fairness coalition, and invitations to county leaders to present at a national rural arts conference in Washington, D.C. The county also noted awarding of House and Senate citations to the suicide prevention task force and discussion of Senate Bill 982 (‘Johnny’s Law’), a measure on anti‑bullying and cyberbullying policies in K–12 schools.
