Commissioners approved reciprocal agreements to transfer $150,000 in non-primary FAA entitlement funds from Libby Airport to Three Forks (34X) Airport on a one-year loan basis so the funds would not revert to FAA headquarters.
Tyler Reid explained that both Libby and Eureka airports normally receive $150,000 annually in non-primary entitlements and that Libby's 2022 funds were at risk of expiring if not used within the four-year roll-over period. The proposed solution is a temporary reciprocal agreement: Libby loans $150,000 to Three Forks, which will return the amount to Libby in 2026, preserving state aviation funding in the region.
The commission moved, seconded and approved the two signature pages and directed staff to obtain required signatures from the county attorney and city officials before forwarding the agreements to the FAA.
The transcript records the motion and a voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting minutes provided in the transcript.
