Commissioners asked about operational details such as hours, off‑street parking, fencing and setback compliance; staff and commissioners said they were satisfied those conditions could be met. "My home business will be an in‑home daycare. So, I'll be watching kids from four weeks to five years old," Johnson said during public comment.
A commissioner made a motion to approve the home‑occupation permit, a second was recorded and the motion passed by voice vote. The commission noted community need for daycare openings and wished Johnson well.
The approval covers the home‑occupation permit only; any future changes to the proposed operation that would change parking, traffic or the number of children would need to conform to the city's ordinance and may require further review.
The commission then moved on to other items on the agenda.
